An integration between AXAPTA or Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, as it is now called, and PIM system provides benefits both ways. Best practice is to keep the two systems as close to standard setup as possible. That is, PIM takes care of channel data and AX handles transactional data. The benefits of integrating includes:
- A close integration between PIM and Dynamics FO, means that you can keep AXAPTA simple and streamlined. Only transactional data should reside here. All other data is in the PIM system (inriver, Perfion or Dynamicweb).
- The few adjustments to Dynamics AXAPTA also mean that operating costs are reduced.
- Upgrades can be done faster and more securely than before. Thus, fewer consequences of updating the system to a newer version.
- By making publications directly in PIM, one can take advantage of the fact that the PIM system retrieves data directly from Dynamics FO at the exact moment they are to be used.
- Catalogues, price lists, brochures, etc. can be set up easily and quickly - even with a guarantee that you have the latest prices, descriptions, etc.
