ESG at PicoPublish
At PicoPublish, our primary focus is delivering the best IT solutions for our clients.
At the same time, we continuously strive to improve in ensuring a good working environment, contributing to the community around us, and considering how our work impacts the environment.
Under the ESG - Environmental, Social, Governance - banner, we have chosen to commission an independent analysis of these factors, so that going forward we can present concrete figures and goals for our efforts, and continue to improve.
Why do we work with ESG?
Based on our process, "A Structured Way to Success," we believe that achieving true sustainability requires a precise and quantifiable approach.
Although we do not yet have the perfect methods or the necessary knowledge to fully assess all aspects of our impact on social, cultural, and environmental factors affecting colleagues, clients, and the climate, we refuse to be limited by this.
The key figures you find on this page therefore reflect our ambition to continuously document where we are making a positive difference - and to improve our understanding of where we ourselves need to get better.

Reporting of environmental data at PicoPublish
With the EU’s overarching goal of achieving a 100% reduction in net CO2 emissions by 2050, a range of initiatives and measures are being implemented these years. This means new legislation, new corporate reporting requirements, and a new reality to meet.
Data collection and calculation at PicoPublish are based on the GHG Protocol (Greenhouse Gas), which accounts for both direct and indirect emissions.

Reporting of social data at PicoPublish
Data in the “Social” category relates to how the company treats employees, partners, and the surrounding community we operate in.
This category is in many ways abstract, as social factors can be difficult to measure. However, in the ESRS standard - which forms the basis for all CSRD reporting - social factors are represented by four categories; own employees, employees in the value chain, surrounding communities, and consumers and end-users.

Reporting of governance data at PicoPublish
Good governance at PicoPublish must be more than just words; it needs to be an integrated part of our company culture and a key aspect of responsible business practices.
We believe that open doors and transparency are the keys to successful and ethical corporate management. This is reflected in our approach to several critical areas.
Development over time

- Co2E scope 1
- Co2 scope 2
- Co2E scope 3
- Co2E total
- Number of employees
- Sick absence
- CEO pay ratio
Co2E scope 1
Scope 1 represents the direct emissions from PicoPublish’s own activities, such as driving and transportation to meetings or deliveries. Between 2023 and 2024, we achieved a significant reduction in both the number of kilometers driven for client meetings and the average CO₂e emissions. This is the result of increased efforts in carpooling as well as a changed meeting structure, where clients increasingly visit our office. To support this development, we have established four dedicated client workstations.
In 2022, 19,557.10 km were driven, with average emissions of 3 tons CO₂e. The following year, kilometers driven rose slightly to 19,823.50 km, with emissions increasing to 3.2 tons CO₂e. In 2024, kilometers driven fell to 10,208.60 km.
Overall, the data show a reduction from 3 tCO₂e in 2022 to 2 tCO₂e in 2024.

The continued work with sustainability reporting at PicoPublish
The reports mark the beginning of a new reporting format that we are learning to master. We can confidently say that we have always focused on many of the “new” reporting areas that, with initiatives like CSRD, are now becoming a reality.
Therefore, these reports should also be seen as our commitment to continuously measure and report on our culture and the impact we have on the society around us.
Focus on the UN Sustainable Development Goals
One of the frameworks we choose to support ourselves with as we look ahead is the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The SDGs serve both as valuable guiding benchmarks and as a concrete delimitation for our focus - after all, we cannot operate at full capacity on all fronts simultaneously.
By engaging with the SDGs, we adapt our actions and objectives to be relevant and feasible for us to implement. Additionally, we prioritize supporting external initiatives that contribute to meeting the SDGs, thus extending beyond our own organization.
