PicoPublish = PicoPeople: Our values and culture

  1. About us
  2. Employee benefits

Professionalism, responsibility and humanity

We are a traditional consulting firm in many ways - and yet not at all. While you need to track your time, sometimes change direction in the middle of a project, and there are days when everyone has to move quickly, we have an ambition that everyone at PicoPublish can have meaningful work every day.

Our ambition to be the best also means you will have time to develop your professional skills. Our only system is trust. When you are hired, we fully trust that you are interested in nurturing your own expertise - naturally supported by your colleagues and management to the extent you wish.

We recognize that people are different, and therefore we will work with you to determine how the part of your life called “work life” should look, so your entire life fits together.

In return, we expect you to have self-awareness, commit to a responsible community, and put the team’s needs above your own.

Flexibility to be a whole person

We are a company that prioritizes that our employees have the opportunity to structure their work around their life and not the other way around.

Therefore, we also offer freedom to plan where and when you work. This requires that we communicate and align expectations with each other and with our clients, so that collaboration with PicoPublish guarantees transparency and reliability.

"When my personal life suddenly demanded a bit more from me, I reduced my hours for a month to make ends meet. That made the difference so I didn’t feel inadequate both at work and at home"

Anders Bach Kristensen, Digital Designer

Physical and mental well-being, with a focus on individual health

We regularly focus on both mental and physical health. In addition to having an active health and safety representative who always listens to our individual and collective needs, we set aside time throughout the year to make an extra effort to create good habits.

Throughout the month of May, we participate in the “Bike to work” competition, and one week a year we hold “Health week,” where we eat healthier, receive a professional health check, and arrange physical activities after work.

Oh - and we actually pay you to exercise for one hour a week as part of your working hours. It makes sense for both the brain and the body.

Ergonomics and computing power - you should never compromise on your equipment!

Ergonomics and performance must go hand in hand so that you have the necessary conditions to complete your tasks. We make sure to match your needs with the equipment that enables you to work focused on your assignments.

It seems pointless for us to list, but not everyone is used to: height-adjustable desks, a proper office chair, headphones of your choice, laptops (PC/MAC), docking stations (that actually work!), and the monitors you need to do your job properly.

We spend many hours at our workstations, and as an employer, we have a responsibility to ensure you don’t develop physical issues due to poor equipment. In return, you have a responsibility to take care of the environment and only ask for what you truly need.

Varied lunch and fresh fruit every day

In addition to a varied lunch program, there is always fresh fruit in the kitchen and free coffee from our well-equipped espresso machines.

We have no “zero sugar”-policy and do not enforce any additional restrictions on drinks or snacks. However, we try to support healthy habits and therefore always provide healthy alternatives and freshly peeled carrots for those who want a snack.

If you have allergies, we ensure that our lunch program offers a tasty alternative for you.

Every Friday, we serve rolls during our joint morning meeting, where we review the week’s successes, share knowledge, and summarize the week’s events at the Friday meeting in our cafeteria.

An active employee association

At PicoPublish, we are fortunate not only to have employees who are engaged with their clients and work areas but also with each other.

This is reflected, among other things, through our active employee association, which ensures both to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions, and also takes the lead in organizing activities outside of work hours.

Attendance is voluntary, but with the wide range of activities, there are plenty of opportunities to gain new experiences. We have, for example, gone on mushroom picking trips, built Lego against the clock, visited a shooting club, stood on stand-up paddleboards, participated in escape rooms, gone fishing, attended wine tastings, and much more.

Professional events and hackathons

One thing is to have fun and relax together. Another important aspect of our work is learning together and, not least, from each other.

From time to time, we hold professional events where it is possible to gain insights about yourself or others. We regularly invite external facilitators for training sessions, lectures, and similar activities when we come across interesting people and expertise.

We have, among other things, worked on team tasks and team mentality, created personality profiles, held hackathons (with soda and pizza!), and as a colleague at PicoPublish, your ideas are very welcome.

What is everyday life without celebration

Pico Parties

With a strong focus on work/life balance, we don’t expect our colleagues to stay at the office late into the night. Buuuut there are exceptions when we invite everyone several times a year to summer parties, Christmas lunches, and Friday bars.

We are a harmonious workplace where everyone gets along well, and that naturally gives us reason to come together to celebrate when the opportunity arises. The bar is always open, and we value gathering all employees for these events. Our social events often provide a chance to talk about things outside of work and get to know each other better as whole people.
